Howdy, 

I want to share an idea with you! 

It's an idea I’ve been sitting on for more than a year. But as I walked around my yard today and realized Spring is finally here in Iowa and another season has gone by without me putting this out there - I realized I can’t wait anymore!

So, here it is. It’s not finished, and it’s a little bit messy - but if I wait until this idea is perfect, I’ll never get it out there.

THE IDEA: An art garden therapy monthly painting club. 

(Basically an online monthly painting club where I’ll teach you, a complete beginner, to paint garden/flower paintings in this loose impressionist style!)

WHY: I’ve been using painting as a way to deal with stress my whole life. 

When I’m painting I go into this other place. 

Instead of being overwhelmed and stressed, I go into this peaceful happy place where I’m painting and the whole world just floats away. 

And I want to teach you how to do this - even if all you know how to draw right now is a stick person!

A PLACE: The idea is to have a place where women who are looking for something creative to learn can lessen the overwhelm of life, by learning to paint - and maybe do some easy-to-do-garden projects too!

DIRECTION: I’ll lead you and teach you how to paint flowers and garden scenes in an impressionistic way and how powerful art and gardening can be in with dealing with whatever it is you are dealing with. (whether that’s needing something to do when your kid goes to college, needing a calm place for a few hours, or just needing a reason to stop scrolling so much)

I’ll take you from drawing a stick figure (or child’s flower) to creating paintings you’re proud of and you enjoy painting.

COMMUNITY: I see us coming together and learning to paint and garden together. I see us laughing and crying together. And healing together in a big powerful community where we can lift each other up and be surrounded by the simple beauty of art and painting and flowers. This will be online to start with so we will have a group where we can paint and share what we are painting.

SIMPLE: I want to keep it simple - one painting a month and a few gardening tips. That’s it. I’ll guide you every step of the way for you do the painting. The paintings will be loose and impressionistic in style - not how I normally paint. Maybe it will get more involved, but for now I see it being a wonderful place to escape to for a few hours a month. The monthly painting won’t be hard and it won’t be time consuming.

After I launch this to the public it will be higher than this

There’s one thing I need from you though - I need your opinion! I don’t have all the details figured out and this is where you come in! I’ll be asking you what you think about the membership and what to paint so we can form the membership together.

PS - all of the videos will be recorded so you can paint at your leisure! No time requirements, but I would hope the painting would take about 2 hours. We will share what we do in a facebook group (or something similar)
